The Relationship between Family Emotional Climate and Students’ Academic Motivation: The Mediating Role of Academic Self-Efficacy

Family emotional climate is a fundamental factor in students’ academic and psychological development. This study examined the relationship between family emotional climate and academic motivation, with academic self-efficacy as a mediating variable. Using a correlational design, data were collected from students through standardized questionnaires. Path analysis revealed that a positive family emotional climate directly enhanced academic motivation and indirectly influenced it through increased academic self-efficacy. The results emphasize the importance of supportive family environments in fostering students’ motivational beliefs and academic engagement.
